About Remokido:
Some of the crucial features of Remokido is that there is such a large variety of techniques that it caters for everyone, young, old, male, female, short, tall, strong & weak. Including people with mental & physical limitations.
Due to Remokido's highly effective techniques it is a popular style amongst Bodyguards, Defence Forces, Security Guards, Police and every day people wanting to protect them self and their loved ones in all situations, while also following the national laws of self-defence
The main focus for a Remokido student known as a "Remokidoist" is to maneuver his or her opponent's centre of balance to a vulnerable position to control them using techniques without the use of strength. This is very useful for a short and weak person needing to defend against bigger and stronger attackers. A mixture of techniques are taught to make a Remokidoist diverse in achieving the ability to defend against a group of attackers at the same time, including opponents trained in other Martial Art styles.
Safety:
Remokidoists train in the safest way at all times and never full on. Remokido techniques are very effective and can cause severe injuries to a person, even death. Therefore in Remokido everyone trains for knowledge, not to see how much damage can be caused. People who are injured can not train effectively, the main reason people take part in Remokido training is to learn how to protect themselves & others.
Real Life Techniques:
Remokido combines practical techniques similar to those found in traditional eastern martial arts mixed with modern advanced techniques only found in Remokido elite martial art training. Giving dynamic training for beginners to the accomplished martial artist. A Remokidoist uses real life techniques that is more advanced than just hitting and kicking someone.
Defence:
Remokidoists train to defend against all punches, kicks, strikes, grappling, throws, locks and are trained in weapon disarming.
Counter Attack:
Remokidoists are trained to use nerve pressure points, joint-lock take-downs, joint-lock throws, body throws, thrusts & strikes, kicks & sweeps, grappling and weapons.
Mind:
Remokido’s own style of warrior mind training is used to over come pain, to calm our nerves & strengthen our Mind, Body & Soul.
Body & Soul:
Remokido training is also used as a way of stress relief, a great way to keep fit and a fun social activity.
Kata:
Remokido’s Kata is choreographed routines to music and may be accompanied with traditional martial arts weapons.
Tournaments:
A variety of levels & types of sparring is a regular part of training for Remokidoists, so that they can improve their reaction time. Some Remokidoists may choose to enter tournaments such Kickboxing or National All Styles. Each tournament has it's own set of rules and techniques allowed.
Weapon Training & Disarming:
Remokidoists train with traditional martial art weapons for demonstration purposes only. In many countries such as in Australia where Remokido was first created, national laws prevent the carrying of weapons for self-defence. Remokido is designed to work efficiently without the need of weapons, but also includes training to use common items for self-defence if available. Remokidoists are trained to disarm (take away) weapons from attackers in the case they were to be attacked with a weapon. A variety of people from the armed forces have taken part in Remokido elite martial art training, however training is conducted the same way as most traditional martial arts, not in a boot camp way.
